Dear Changemaker

It is past half-time for SDG4. Progress is slow. The problems that were before the Covid with 52% of children unable to read, remains largely unchanged. Many countries have yeat to reach the Pre-Covid levels. A quality education is implausible without first addressing The problem of foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN).

A Crisis of Pedagogy

The much ignored fact is the crises of pedagogy. The crisis in learning is a crisis of pedagogy; both how we teach the foundational skills, and how quickly we teach them. Rote methods of teaching and learning are holding hostage enormous potential of the children, many of whom drop out of schools, and suffer indignation the rest of their lives.

How will the world convert its well-intentioned resolves into reality, like those made last September at the UN Transforming Education Summit in New York? What will the pathway to universal literacy be? When will foundational skills include climate change as their essential component now before COP 28? What new pedagogies and policies will it take to deliver foundational skills within weeks and months, and not years?

Be at the forefront of the next big shift in education so urgently needed.

Accelerating Learning for AllPedagogy of the Future Today

ALfA, or Accelerating Learning for All, revolutionizes education with a child-led focus on foundational literacy and numeracy. Given the stark fact that 2 out of 3 children under ten lack basic skills, ALfA seeks to correct educational failures. This innovative pedagogy ensures rapid literacy and numeracy acquisition in just 45 days, prioritizing effectiveness, joy, and well-being.

Going beyond conventional learning, ALfA strives to offer holistic education for every child. Envisioning a collaborative and conflict-free future, ALfA equips children with skills to shape a climate conscious peaceful world free from poverty—a crucial approach for a brighter global reality.

Make On-The-Spot Poster Presentations

On-The-Spot Poster presentations focused on foundational literacy and numeracy are open to all education innovators,

Global Ed Innovator Fellowships & Awards

Award

Fellowships and Awards are our way of saying: “Thank you for being a part of the change process so urgently needed in education.” Fellowships are for promising ideas for research and innovations-in-action. Awards are for programs which are already able to demonstrate their impact with evidence.

INTERNATIONAL JURY

An international jury will make the selections based on transparent criteria to award between 100 to 200 Fellowships this year depending upon the quality of the submissions.

FELLOWSHIPS

All GETI Fellows are expected to carry out their ideas for change post selection, and to gather evidence of their implementation on a regular basis in an e-portfolio. Evidence includes photos, videos, slide presentations, surveys, pre-and post-intervention data and its analysis (quantitative, anecdotal and qualitative) as in action research.

All GETI Fellows with evidence will automatically qualify for the Global Ed Innovator Awards.
